WIFI The house uses Starlink satellite internet. When you search for WIFI signals, choose “STARLINK”.
TVs
Lounge Room
The TV can be used for watching Free to Air through the satellite TV box and Streaming directly from the TV.
To use streaming services, use the TV remote control to turn on the TV. It is connected to the home WIFI (will initially say not connected but will connect in about 10 seconds). Available services include Netflix, Stan, Binge, Prime, Disney, and Kayo.
To watch Free to Air TV through Satellite TV box, press Input button on the TV controller. Choose HDMI 3 to access Satellite TV. Then use the Altech controller to watch satellite TV.
Living Room
This TV can only be used to watch streaming services – free to air services cannot be picked up via aerial and there is no satellite TV on this television. All the free to air services have a streaming app however, through which Live TV can be seen so this can be used if you wish to watch broadcast TV programming.
When TV is turned on, it will initially show a screen asking to scan for channels. Do not click for this scan (it takes a while and will not find any). Instead, click the Home button to see all the streaming apps available.
Air Conditioning
The house has fully ducted air conditioning available in all living areas and bedrooms. For air conditioning the house is divided into 4 separate zones plus a ‘common zone’. The common zone, which includes the kitchen, dining area and living room (room with wood heater), will always be on while the air conditioning is functioning so does not have a zone button to control. The other zones required can be selected by buttons on the control pad (note when on, at least one of the 4 zones is required to be selected along with the common zone which is always on by default).
The air conditioning control pad is located at the start of the long hallway.
Turn on by pressing the power button.
Select zones – the area controlled by each zone is noted by stickers below the control pad.
Adjust temperature by using the up and down arrows above/below the thermometer symbol.
Press the power button to turn off.
While operating, the power light will be on. While off, the power light will be off however the last selected zone lights will remain on.
Please turn off the air conditioning when you go out. We would also suggest turning off during the night and using the overhead fans in each bedroom instead during the Summer months.
Cooktop
The cooktop is an induction unit. Please note that when choosing a cooking zone, ensure that the diameter of the circle on the stove is similar size to the pan that you are using.
Spa
The spa cover is attached to the spa with child-safe lockable latches. If you would like to lock the spa, a small plastic key for the spa locks is located on the towel hooks near the spa.
Spa control panel will usually display current water temperature. To change desired water temperature, press up or down and adjust. We recommend 38 degrees. Immediately after each use please put the spa cover back on to stop insects getting in and to maintain the temperature.
After the last use of each day, please add contents of 1 sachet of chlorine to the spa. Chlorine can be found in the laundry cupboard above the washing machine.
There’s nothing better than sitting in the spa in the evening with a glass of wine, but please only use the plastic glassware provided. And please ensure that long hair is tied back for safety.
Please do not turn the spa off at the power point (It is set to filter when not in use.)
Wood Heater
In cooler months we hope you enjoy the wood heater in the living room. Please only use hardwood, which is available under the heater or in the green cart on the front verandah. You are welcome to collect wood for kindling behind the house.
There is a slide at the front to adjust the amount of air – more air will increase the intensity of the burn, however will use far more wood, please adjust according to your needs.
There is a fan system installed to help blow the heat if you wish to use it. Located behind the unit, turn on both the thermostat and fan – it will start blowing air when the heatbox is warm enough.
